We just finished a printed ppf wrap on a Ford Bronco, and it’s one of the most striking builds to roll out of our Henderson shop. The design is a weathered American flag — tattered red and cream stripes across the hood with a faint eagle worked into the artwork, white-gold stars on a deep navy field across the doors and front fenders, and matching stars on the roof. This is a real Ford Bronco PPF job, designed, printed and installed entirely in-house — and it shows why we now print our custom designs on paint protection film, not just vinyl.
This truck belongs to a war veteran, and every star and stripe was designed to honor that service. It’s a build we’re proud to have put our name on.
What Is a Printed PPF Wrap?
A printed ppf wrap means the artwork isn’t printed on wrap vinyl and laminated on top of separate paint protection. Instead, the graphic is printed directly onto clear paint protection film. The design and the protection are the same layer, installed as one piece across the body.
For this Bronco, that means the American flag graphic — the stripes on the hood, the stars across the doors, the waving stripes toward the rear quarters — is sitting on urethane film built to take real-world abuse, not on a thinner decorative layer.
Printed PPF Wrap vs. Printed Vinyl
We still build plenty of custom printed vinyl wraps, and vinyl is the right call for a lot of projects. But for a truck like this one, printed PPF wins on three points:
- Gloss — Printed PPF has a deep, wet, almost glass-like finish that a laminated vinyl wrap can’t match. Under our shop lights, the reflections across this Bronco’s hood and doors are crisp and sharp, not soft or hazy.
- Durability — PPF is a thicker urethane film built to take rock chips, gravel, and trail debris. Broncos are built to leave the pavement — Red Rock, Mount Charleston, desert trails — and printed vinyl chips and scuffs sooner in that environment.
- Protection — The paint underneath is protected by the design itself. There’s no separate step for graphics and a separate step for protection — it’s one install, one layer.

Design, printing, and install all happen under one roof at Purple Flare Wraps. That matters on a project like this because the flag’s stars and stripes have to line up across door gaps, across the hood, and up onto the roof without breaking the pattern.

This kind of build isn’t limited to Broncos. Las Vegas is hard on paint: high UV, high heat, and constant road debris from construction and desert driving.
